It’s been one month since we welcomed our sweet Grace Isla Cruz into this world, and what a complete whirlwind it’s been! When it comes to using all of the products we bought for the first time, combined with how busy and clueless we’ve been (lol), I’ve realized what items have actually been super helpful and what hasn’t. SO I tried my best to really cut this list down to the MOST used products so far. I’m just going to get straight to the point, so here ya gooo!
FOR MOM:
- Hands-free pumping bra – If you plan on pumping, get this girlll. She is a Godsend and gives you the sweet gift of two free hands during that pumping marathon.
- Fawn Design diaper bag – This bag is so worth it. I can fit EVERYTHING in there and wear it as a backpack or on my shoulder. I recommend also buying the stroller hooks (they’re an extra $20 – yeah I know, lame that they don’t come with it but whatev) and there you have it, life is complete.
- 3 in 1 postnatal shapewear – This is so great for the price. Pay attention to the directions for when you can start wearing each piece of this shapewear and wear it daily.
- Lounge jogger pants – Having a newborn means you’re stuck at home A LOT, and I’m all about living that comfy life ya feel me? I bought multiple pairs of these in different colors because they’re super soft and cozy, plus they have front pockets. Yes yes yesss.
- Postpartum undies – I don’t need to explain myself here. I bought a bunch of these and they haven’t let a girl down once.
FOR BABY:
- SnuggleMe Organic – Grace doesn’t really like taking naps during the day without this thing. The fact that it “hugs” her helps stretch out the length of her daytime naps. Make sure you have two different covers because that baby life is a messy lifeee.
- Ollie swaddle – We tried a few different swaddles with her and she’s such an escape artist! Once she got an arm out, it woke her up and it messed up her sleep (and ours). We swaddle her at night and it’s by far the best.
- Phillips Avent natural bottles – We tried a MAM bottle and Tommee Tippee bottles (HATED Tommee Tippee ughh), and we liked this one the best. We started with the 4oz bottle for the first month and have started expanding to the 9oz bottle so she can grow into it.
- Taking Cara Babies Online Newborn Class – I’m an only child and was never really around babies ever, so when it came to baby sleep I had NO FLIPPIN’ IDEA what I was doing. Daniel and I have been getting much better sleep now that we’ve educated ourselves and used the tools that Cara provides in this class. I’m still just halfway through the class and am so impressed. Do yourself a favor and get it!
- MAM pacifiers – I bought pretty pacifiers that I thought would look cute in Instagram photos (lol but really though). We received these from our baby shower and they’re the only ones she’ll take so far. Plus I like that they glow in the dark and have an orthodontic nipple and obviously she appreciates that too??
- Hatch Baby Rest Sound Machine – We use this every. single. night. I love all of the different sound and color options, but the fact that I can control it from an app on my phone makes all of my tech-nerd dreams come true heyyy.
- Buy ALLLLL of the washcloths and burp cloths. All of them. Here are my favorites: Washcloths (cheap and gets the job done) // Copper Pearl burp cloths (sooo soft and thick)
- Infant Optics baby monitor – We love this guy and haven’t had any issues so far. Definitely key for that nap life!
- Skip Hop portable changing pad – I stuff this in the back of my Fawn Design diaper bag and it fulfills my whole life lolol. So good.
- Keekaroo peanut changer – When we’re at home we always change Grace on this. She has this wonderful habit of peeing RIGHT AS we’re changing her diaper. This guy has been a lifesaver because we can just wipe it clean and don’t have to remove a fabric cover to wash it. I MEANNN who has time for that?!
